A poll, because I don't post often anymore.

I'm thinking about creating a journal for my real life. I'm not looking for a place where I can air out all of my drama, because I have none (thank god!). But a place where I can post my believes, my studies, my...I dunno, stuff. Real life, non-fanish stuff.

Whaddya think?

Why don't you post both on this? You could put the private stuff on a private life filter and leave the fandomy stuff the way it is.

If not, you should open up a new journal, cause I think it might be good to have a place to also write about personal stuff.

I would feel bad about posting things I know half of my list would have no interest in. It's really annoying spam.

Plus, I kinda want to keep my dirty, slashy side secret. Shh...;)

That's why I suggested filters.

Who do you want to keep your slashy side secret from? I think it is pretty much a publicy known fact. :p

If you do

1. Set it to friends only as a default, after you post, leave it that way for an hour or two, read it over again before you make it public.
2. Don't make public anything you wouldn't want anyone in RL to read, the Internet can be a small world at times.
3. Don't post anything that will induce drama IRL, or cause funny looks from your co-workers, even under a flock, unless you trust everyone on your flist, or that particular set of custom lock, really.

Re: If you do

I should have made my post more clear. It's not personal stuff I want to post, it's non-fannish stuff. Academic stuff. Stuff like history and politics and other topics which I don't think would be of must interest to my current fannish journal friends.

Also, if I start friending people from that side, I don't want them to be spammed with slashy goodness. I don't think they would understand. ;)

You should just post in this lj. Since it would be easy.

*hugs*

What no ticky box?

What no ticky box?
Because people like me would click the ticky box and throw off my whole results.

I get where you're coming from re dividing your RL/slashy sides. It's a lot easier than friends filters. We forget that not everyone understands the slash and it can really disturb some people who might well be interested in things like history & politics...though obviously some of us cross those boundaries happily. :)
